Certified Nutrition Counsellor is a professional who uses their knowledge of nutrition and human physiology to improve the physical well being of their clients by improving their diet. Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics (CNDS), IGMPI is offering an opportunity to become a Certified Nutrition Counsellor for those who will be pleased to know that they can work in a wide variety of settings with a wide variety of clientele. This professional typically works in a hospital, clinic, doctor’s office, or skilled nursing facility (nursing home). They also develop customized diets and eating programmes for those who have special dietary such as diabetes, high blood pressure, low salt and sugar. A nutrition counsellor helps clients (i.e. patients, individuals, residents, groups, and children) develop healthy eating habits.

As a Certified Nutrition Counsellor, you may encourage healthy nutrition by speaking to the public about healthy foods, nutrition, and the relationship between healthy eating habits, and poor eating habits and overall lifestyle.

This credential implies that you have achieved an advanced level of expertise and experience in the field.

Certified Study Resources:

In this program individuals will able to understand the nutrition needs and dietary management of various age-groups with knowing their physiological, food habits and past medical history and dietary assessment. Not only this, but also guide them how to include and exclude foods in different allergies like peanut, cashew, sea food, egg and gluten and lactose intolerance. Besides this, they also enhance their skills by understanding nutrition education for different chronic and lifestyle disorders like diabetes, cancer, hypertension, thyroid, hyperlipidaemia and obesity.

Eligibility

Any graduate/ B.tech/ B.Sc. in Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ BE/ B.Pharma/ MBBS/ BDS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BAMS or any other discipline/ candidates with relevant work experience are eligible to apply for this certification.

Programme Deliverables

Assessment & Certification

All the participants are expected to appear for online assessment. After successfully qualifying the examination, the participants will be awarded the professional certification of Certified Nutrition Counsellor by Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics (CNDS), IGMPI. For all the above-mentioned elaborate study resources, Assessment test papers and case studies would be provided by the Institute from time to time. Details get updated on the website as well. The certification will be awarded after the required levels of knowledge, skills, professionalism and attitude are assessed through the IGMPI assessment process.
