DHR’s SARANSH programme to strengthen evidence-based healthcare research practices in India

The Department of Health Research (DHR) has initiated the "Regional Capacity Building in Systematic Reviews in India SARANSH (Systematic Reviews and Networking Support in Health)" program to elevate healthcare research quality. This collaborative effort between DHR, the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS), and various Union Ministry of Health divisions aims to establish a network of skilled researchers capable of conducting high-quality systematic reviews, fostering evidence-based healthcare practices nationwide.

SARANSH addresses the scarcity of systematic review expertise, particularly among medical faculties and young researchers. Through SARANSH, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) aims to offer essential training and support to medical institutes across India.

DHR plans to sponsor ten workshops on systematic reviews and meta-analysis in medical institutes/colleges nationwide during 2024-25. Each workshop, receiving up to Rs. 6 lakhs in funding, will train around 30-40 medical faculties and young researchers. Interested individuals with workshop experience and published systematic reviews are invited to submit their Expression of Interest by April 21, 2024.
