Barsotti and Trader Joe’s carrot juice recalled due to under-processing

Barsotti Juice Company, Inc. is issuing a recall for specific carrot juices due to being deemed under-processed. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted details online, noting the recall was initiated on Feb. 22, 2024, and remains ongoing.

The affected products were distributed in various states, including California, Connecticut, Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Illinois, Florida, Virginia, and Arizona.

The recalled items include Barsotti Organic Carrot Juice in 16 oz. and 64 oz. plastic bottles, as well as Trader Joe’s 100% Juice Organic Carrot Juice in 16 oz. and 32 oz. plastic bottles. These perishable products should be kept refrigerated.

A total of 11,499 cases are affected, with specific lot codes and best-by dates provided. Consumers are advised not to consume these products, regardless of their appearance or odour. Recalled items should be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.
