Salmon recalled in Canada over potentially dangerous bacteria contamination

Aqua Blue Seafood Ltd. is issuing a recall for Mowi brand Norwegian Atlantic Salmon – Cold Smoked due to the potential presence of harmful bacteria. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) reports that the affected product is being recalled from the market because it may facilitate the growth of Clostridium botulinum. These recalled products have been distributed in Ontario, Canada.

Botulism, if left untreated, can lead to the paralysis of respiratory muscles, potentially resulting in sudden death. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) emphasizes that anyone who has consumed any recalled product and exhibits signs of botulism poisoning should promptly seek medical attention.
