FDA recommends company to warn consumers regarding its goat milk formula

The FDA has urged Sammy’s Milk of Newport Beach, CA, to caution against using its toddler formula as an infant formula, citing concerns over potential inadequacies in meeting infant formula requirements and the risk to infants' safety and nutrition. These concerns arose during a recent meeting with FDA officials, where representations on the company's website and social media platforms were identified, suggesting the product's suitability for infants.

Sammy’s Milk asserts that its product is explicitly designed for children aged 12 to 36 months, as clearly stated on its packaging and website. The specific product in question, with lot code SD348 and a “Best by” date of August 2025, was solely available online.

The company emphasized the importance of adhering to the recommended age range for product consumption and advised against using Goat Milk Toddler Formula for infants under 12 months old. In response to the FDA's concerns, Sammy’s Milk issued a statement urging consumers to discontinue feeding the product to infants and offering further assistance through their customer service team.
