Salad kits recalled in Canada for Salmonella contamination

A Taylor Farms salad mix was recalled in Canada following government testing that indicated contamination with Salmonella.

The “Mexican Style Street Corn Chopped (Salad) Kit” was marketed in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Labrador, Nova Scotia. Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Quebec and possibly other areas and territories, as per the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Consumers possessing the salad are urged to discard it and not eat it and to return it to the place of purchase.

Food infected with Salmonella bacteria usually looks, smells, or tastes good. Consumers especially infants, children, seniors, and people with debilitated immune systems are at higher risk of serious illness, as per the U.S. CDC.
